Bingham Honored as a Local Legend for Workers' Rights

At the Cincinnati Interfaith Workers Center (CIWC) annual May Day Brunch where members of the faith, labor, and civil rights community come together, Eula Bingham, PhD, professor emerita of the Department of Environmental Health was honored with the CIWC Local Legends award.
An internationally renowned toxicologist, Bingham joined UC’s faculty in 1961 as a researcher on chemical carcinogens. She served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety & Health Administration during the Carter Administration from 1977 to 1981 and then returned to UC as professor and vice president for research and graduate studies.
