MSTP Student Alex Sprague wins 1st Place at University of Cincinnati Three Minute Thesis Competition
The UC Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition was on February 27, 2025. 3MT challenges students to present their research to a non-specialist audience in only three minutes and using just one PowerPoint slide. After multiple preliminary rounds three College of Medicine graduate students made it to the finalist stage.
Alex Sprague, a student in the Medical Scientist Training Program, was the first-place winner. Sprague receives a $1000 award for winning the competition and will be registered to compete in the Midwestern Association Regional 3MT competition held during the MAGS annual meeting from April 2-4.

Congratulations to Alexander Sprague (Epidemiology, PhD)! As the winner of UC's Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, Alex represented UC at the regional 2025 MAGS 3MT® Three Minute Thesis Competition, held in Indianapolis, Indiana. MAGS (the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools) includes institutions from 14 states. At the regional competition, held Friday, April 4, Alex advanced to the final round and secured a second-place win. We are so proud of Alex, and we applaud him for his well-deserved win!
