Overview

The Connections Dual Admissions Program, a BS/MD pipeline program, allows high school seniors to apply and be accepted to the University of Cincinnati undergraduate college and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine simultaneously.

The program attracts highly motivated, intellectually curious, and academically talented students who are serious about a career in medicine. The Connections Program is committed to recruiting students who are underrepresented in the field of medicine. 

The Connections Program is a non-accelerated, eight-year baccalaureate / MD program. Students spend four years as an undergraduate student at the University of Cincinnati and four years as a medical student at the College of Medicine (the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering & Applied Sciences joint program is nine years because of the required co-op learning program).

Admitted students enjoy the flexibility that comes with early assurance to a top-ranked medical school, and pursue various majors, biomedical research opportunities, medical shadowing experiences, co-op opportunities, study abroad programs, and service experiences within the greater Cincinnati area and around the world. Students admitted to the Connections Program are also encouraged to apply to the University of Cincinnati’s Undergraduate Program in Medical Sciences, which is an innovative pathway based in the College of Medicine providing students with integrated academic, experiential, and mentored opportunities that will prepare them for advanced training in medicine and molecular and biomedical sciences. Additionally, students are granted acceptance into the University Honors Program to ensure they have a unique and diverse college experience.

Connections Dual Admissions students work closely with advisors in the College of Medicine, the undergraduate college’s Pre-Professional Advising Center (PPAC), and the University Honors Program to ensure success in their undergraduate years and that they are fully prepared for the challenges of medical school.
